We practice forms or “katas”, street self-defense techniques and combat sports such as point-fighting, kickboxing, submission grappling, and MMA. We stress the importance of honor, integrity, respect, and discipline . Students train to strengthen and unity their Spirit, Mind, and Body ; The Kajukenbo Trinity.” Since Kajukenbo comes from Hawaii, we train with the spirit of Aloha as one Ohana.

Muay Thai, meaning the Thai Fist, is Thailand’s style of boxing, utilizing eight points of contact. Unlike western boxing, which only uses the fist to strike, Muay Thai also makes use of kicks, elbows, and knee strikes, dubbing it the “Art of Eight Limbs.” In this class students will learn offensive & defensive techniques. They will also learn how to use them effectively in a live situation. Our program includes a 5 level course. This class is a challenging cardiovascular workout.

Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling style martial art. It was originally created in Japan, but eventually made its way to Brazil, evolving into what is commonly known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Jiu-Jitsu promotes the principle that a smaller person can successfully defend themselves against larger, stronger assailants by utilizing leverage and proper technique. Our submission curriculum is in line with Master Baret Yoshida of Und1sputed San Diego. Although the main structure of the class focuses on the fundamentals and principles of no gi Jiu-Jitsu, intertwined with these lessons are also wrestling techniques and concepts used to increase your grappling ability and matt-sense/awareness.

(Requires fight shorts and rash guard)

Silat, also referred to as Pencak Silat (pen-jock see-lot), is a collective word for the traditional fighting arts that are indigenous to Malaysia, Indonesia and the Southern Philippines, and there are thousands of different systems and styles practiced throughout the Malaysian Archipelago. Silat can be traced as far back as the 8th century A.D. and the art was at the height of its efficiency during the 14th century. It was heavily used in military campaigns by two of Indonesia's vast, ancient powers—the Srivijaya and the Majapahit Empires. This ancient combat system is very fluid and dynamic. It focuses on strategies, tactics and techniques that were originally created for battlefield warfare but have been modified and adapted for modern self-defensive purposes. And while Silat is primarily a bladed art, there is an abundance of unarmed applications that are so effective that they are highly sought after by special law enforcement agencies and the military elite. Some of the characteristics of Silat include but are not limited to striking, locking, trapping, throwing and a plethora of breaking. One of the many specialties of these arts is the ability to maneuver around opponents and counter attack from behind.
